Front Oak Removal at 908 Endhaven Pl
REBAR LOCATING – Trees in some sections of Carolina Preserve were planted with steel rebar instead of wooden stakes. I must locate using a metal detector and remove any rebar before stump grinding. It is extremely dangerous to grind a stump without removing rebar first.
FOUND REBAR charged @ $10-$20/piece. Trees typically have 3 pieces, but some have less or none where someone removed it already.
TOTAL (typical): $0-$60 PER TREE
*THERE IS NO CHARGE IF NO REBAR IS FOUND*. Assuming 3 pieces found.
STUMP GRINDING (estimated until after 811 call and inspection work below completed)
I will need to call 811 to confirm utility line locations. Grind entire mound area. Extra large mound. Also remove holly shrub growing in mound and dispose.
NOTE: SPECTRUM/ATT cable box is part of the mound to be removed. Customer must contact cable provider to work out how to remove box temporarily and replace after grinding.

811 locates water and sewer to the curb, electrical, gas, and telecom to the house. Water and sewer generally go straight from the curb location to the house. If there is a question about water and sewer location the customer must waive my liability for these lines.
811 does not mark irrigation systems, low voltage wiring (dog invisible fences, lighting, security, etc.) and other underground systems. Per my waiver, I cannot take responsibility for these unless notified as to their existence and location.
MULCH REMOVAL – Remove mulch bed surrounding Oak tree. I expect 0.75 cubic yards of old mulch to be removed ($120/yd disposed). I will do this before grinding the tree stump so that any large roots hidden by the mulch can be removed by the stump grinder as part of the grinding cost above.
OAK TREE REPLACEMENT – HOA size tree from the HOA list.
Tree price includes tree, tree planting, and a 1-year standard warranty.
Trees on HOA list with typical pricing in HOA size:
$450-$550 Red Maple, Trident Maple, Crapemyrtle (various flower colors usually available), Cherry
$550-$600 Carpinus (Ironwood)
$850-$900 Japanese Maple (Bloodgood or Coral Bark/Sango Kaku)
I don’t recommend planting Dogwoods in full sun locations. Other trees on list not available or not recommended.
SOD REPLACEMENT – Replace sod where mulch removed and tree mound removed except for center 6′ circle where new tree will be planted and mulched in. (I don’t recommend a planting circle smaller than 6′.) 150 sq feet of sod to be installed. Install at $3/sq foot. ‘TifTuf’ Bermuda sod per HOA rules. I think if this is done before the end of September it will root well enough. Depending on how cold the fall is and how much later the actual work happens, it may be best to wait until the Spring of 2025 to install new sod.
Thank you.
Estimate: If, upon arriving at the site, it is determined the final price will exceed the estimate by more than 25%, your approval will be required before work begins.
Quote: The price listed here is the final price unless you change your mind on what needs to be done.
Estimates and quotes are good for the shorter of 30 days or until the condition of the tree changes substantially, such as being struck by lightning or damaged in high winds.
