Front Oak Removal at 603 Mixboro Dr
REBAR LOCATING – Trees in some sections of Carolina Preserve were planted with steel rebar instead of wooden stakes. I must locate using a metal detector and remove any rebar before stump grinding. It is extremely dangerous to grind a stump without removing rebar first.
FOUND REBAR charged @ $10-$20/piece. Trees typically have 3 pieces, but some have less or none where someone removed it already.
TOTAL (typical): $0-$60 PER TREE
*THERE IS NO CHARGE IF NO REBAR IS FOUND*. Assuming 3 pieces found.
STUMP GRINDING (estimated until after 811 call and inspection work below completed)
I will need to call 811 to confirm utility line locations.
This part of the job is a little tricky because there is a three layer brick ring around the entire tree. I would recommend removing 1 or 2 layers before planting the new tree is it won’t need to be as high out of the ground. I would need to remove at least half of the entire ring structure completely to do a good job grinding the stump and to allow for a new tree to be planted in the same location.
$260 – Grind stump
$80 – Remove brick ring and set bricks off to the side for disposal by another company or for another company to rebuild the ring after the new tree is installed. [Brick disposal, if desired, is not included at this time]
—– [General Stump Grinding Information Below] —–
811 locates water and sewer to the curb, electrical, gas, and telecom to the house. Water and sewer generally go straight from the curb location to the house. If there is a question about water and sewer location the customer must waive my liability for these lines.
811 does not mark irrigation systems, low voltage wiring (dog invisible fences, lighting, security, etc.) and other underground systems. Per my waiver, I cannot take responsibility for these unless notified as to their existence and location.
OAK GRINDINGS – Remove stump grindings and dispose to allow for replanting in same spot. Replace with soil as needed. Due to the build up of soil and roots from the three layer brick ring around the oak tree, I expect a larger amount of grindings/soil to be disposed of than normal. I expect 1 cubic yards of grindings/soil to be removed.
If you’d like additional soil removed, I can remove it charged at price of actual material removed.
TREE REPLACEMENT – HOA size tree from the HOA list.
Tree price includes tree, tree planting, and a 1-year standard warranty. Tree price is NOT included on this quote at this time but I can update it once you’ve decided on which kind of new tree you’d like.
====
Trees on HOA list with typical pricing in HOA size:
$450-$550 Red Maple, Trident Maple, Crapemyrtle (various flower colors usually available), Cherry
$550-$600 Carpinus (Ironwood)
$850-$900 Japanese Maple (Bloodgood or Coral Bark/Sango Kaku)
I don’t recommend planting Dogwoods in full sun locations. Other trees on list not available or not recommended.
Thank you.

Quote: The price listed here is the final price unless you change your mind on what needs to be done.
Estimates and quotes are good for the shorter of 30 days or until the condition of the tree changes substantially, such as being struck by lightning or damaged in high winds.
