REBAR LOCATING – Trees in some sections of Carolina Preserve were planted with steel rebar instead of wooden stakes. I must locate using a metal detector and remove any rebar before stump grinding. It is extremely dangerous to grind a stump without removing rebar first.

FOUND REBAR charged @ $10-$20/piece. Trees typically have 3 pieces, but some have less or none where someone removed it already. Trees on Aylestone often have rebar, but I don’t know if the builder would have used it on every Leyland Cypress although they made many terrible decisions. Assuming 8 pieces found. (If Pulte used 3 pieces per tree, it could be up to 21 pieces found. 6 Leyland + 1 Oak)

STUMP GRINDING (estimated until after 811 call and inspection work below completed)

I will need to call 811 to confirm utility line locations. Grind each stump out to about 200% of stump diameter. Stump grinder will have to access stumps from the top going downhill, the backside of some stumps may not be accessible due to the slope of the hill (I don’t want the machine falling down the hill).

$650 Leyland Cypress stumps + grind out spots for 9 (nine) new shrubs to be planted in between stump locations. This will make it unnecessary to remove the stump grindings from the stump locations like it would be if you were re-planting in the same spot. Grindings will be raked neatly in place over stump locations.

811 locates water and sewer to the curb, electrical, gas, and telecom to the house. Water and sewer generally go straight from the curb location to the house. If there is a question about water and sewer location the customer must waive my liability for these lines.

811 does not mark irrigation systems, low voltage wiring (dog invisible fences, lighting, security, etc.) and other underground systems. Per my waiver, I cannot take responsibility for these unless notified as to their existence and location.
